A Short Guide to Brabazon's New Travel Links
Home to The Propeller Quarter, Brabazon is a new development in the suburbs of Bristol that is taking the student world by storm. Now in the later stages of its development, this new town is going to be easy to navigate for students in the city. Significant investments have been made in terms of transport, and more is on the way. Let’s get into it.

The Metrobus: Up and Running
You don’t have to wait to get around to sorting your Brabazon travel plans. The m4 Metrobus route now runs directly through the neighbourhood, with services every 20 minutes. It takes around 10 minutes to reach Bristol Parkway and 40 minutes to get into the city centre. This makes the bus a good option for students at both of Bristol’s major universities. You’ll also have a way of getting to the Student Union and the nightlife of the city from day one. The m4 will also connect to the new train station once it opens.
Bristol Brabazon Station
Perhaps the biggest development for Brabazon residents is the arrival of Bristol Brabazon station. It’s currently under construction and due to open in autumn 2026. Once it’s ready, hourly services will connect Brabazon to Bristol Temple Meads, the city’s main station.
From Temple Meads, you can catch connecting trains to Cardiff, Bath, Birmingham, and London, making onward travel simple. The route also includes Ashley Down, making travel to this part of the city seamless.
Students are also around a 10-minute drive away from Bristol Parkway and Filton Abbey Wood stations.
Walking and Cycling
Bristol has a reputation for cycling. It was the first official cycling city in the UK, and Brabazon is continuing this approach. A dedicated cycle route runs through the town and connects directly to the new station development. There are, of course, ample walking routes around the area, too.
More Transport Connections
If you have a car or use taxis and ride-sharing apps, the M4 and M5 motorways are less than three miles away. Bristol Airport is around 15 miles from Brabazon, with flights to over 100 international destinations. For international students, your new base makes getting home a painless exercise.
So, Why Brabazon?
The bigger picture is that Brabazon is one of 12 government-designated new towns, and transport is central to how it’s being built. Rather than adding travel links as an afterthought, they’re being considered in every step of the development. This means the homes, shops, and workspaces that students will occupy will be connected like few other places in the UK. As the town continues to grow, so will its connectivity.
Final Thoughts
Now that your Brabazon travel plans have been put in place, it’s time to take the first step in a personal journey. Take the time to familiarise yourself with The Propeller Quarter, and make a move you’ll never forget. We can’t wait to see you soon.
