It’s only a month away until freshers’ week 2022, and we’re SO excited – we bet you are too!
Within this blog, we will be discussing a range of social events and activities to introduce you to student life in Aberdeen. Here you can find all the information you need for events taking place during freshers if you’re studying at The University of Aberdeen or Robert Gordon University.
With a range of upcoming events to suit everyone’s fancy, you’ll be able to get to know the student community in the Scottish city before university begins. Within our guide you’ll find something to keep you busy and entertained this September as well as how you can get tickets!

What’s Happening & When?
1. The Freshers House Party
The Freshers House Party tour hosts huge student events across the country and lucky for you guys in Aberdeen, they are coming to one of the city’s most popular late-night venues, Club Tropicana & Venga this September.
Described as a Project X style event, you can expect a night of free Domino’s pizza, American red party cups, beer pong station, confetti cannons, giant Inflatables and party games. Sounds fun, right?!
You can party the night away with your flatmates and potential course mates listening to the best Hip Hop, Grime, RnB, House, Disco, Bass, Garage & Club tunes! They’ll also be tons of drinks deals available so you can have a good time whilst not breaking the bank.

2. UV Neon Lazer Rave
The Freshers UV Neon Rave is one of the longest running fresher’s week events and this September they’ll be hosting an exciting event at Club Tropicana & Venga for all you newbies!
The event is set to feature hundreds of students dressed in neon colours, 1000s of neon glowsticks, UV light up batons, CO2 cannons, confetti cannons, free sweets and neon face painting stations. So, it’s certainly not one to miss!
Make memories and create new friendships at this exciting event, with music from top UK DJs who’ve played the likes of Creamfields, Leeds Festival, Reading Festival, Amnesia Ibiza and Boomtown! You’ll be getting your boogie on to club favourites and throwback anthems.

3. Zoo Theme Special
This jungle themed fresher event is one of the biggest annual events for first year university students, and this year Aberdeen is going to be better than ever.
With 750 students from both the Aberdeen University and Robert Gordon University set to be in attendance, we’re sure you’ll have an amazing time. The venue is yet to be confirmed, but the event organisers will be transforming the venue into a jungle, with huge inflatables and massive zoo giveaways promised!
Zoo themed dress is highly encouraged at this event so, grab your fave leopard print top and go and mingle with new people. If you want to experience the Scottish nightlife, you for sure have to add this to your calendar!

4. ABBA Freshers Disco
It’s Friday night and the lights are low at the ABBA Freshers Disco (get it?!) which is taking place at the biggest nightclub in Aberdeen city centre, Atik.
This event is for sure not one to be missed during fresher’s week with confetti showers, 70’s & 80’s performers, inflatable giveaways, on stage dance offs and awards for those students whose ABBA outfits are the best!
You can dance the night away in your funky flares to ABBA’s greatest hits as well as all time classic songs from the 70’s 80’s & 90’s – is there anything more feel good than that?! If you love all things disco then you’ll love this event, and the best part is, you’ll be able to meet other like-minded students who love it just as much as you!

5. Ibiza White Dress Party
Keen to finish off Aberdeen freshers week in style? The Ibiza White Party is a rite of passage and a must for university students who want to make memorable nights out. This event is also taking place at the iconic Atik nightclub, so you’ll have three floors to explore!
Make some new friends amongst the hundreds of students in attendance, party the night away to Ibiza tunes (Dance, Chart, RnB, & Hiphop) with dancers and performers putting on a show, make the most of student drinks prices and get Insta pictures in your white outfits!
Although it’s not compulsory to wear an all-white outfit, its strongly recommended to wear something white. You’ll have the time of your life at this event with your new uni mates, so don’t miss out on the fun!

6. The Big Freshers Icebreaker
The Big Freshers Icebreaker is part of the UK student party tour and is another iconic event for first year students set to begin their undergraduate study. Having sold out every year since 2009, we’re sure this year will be no exception in Aberdeen.
The event will feature on stage performances, cheap drinks deals, ice cannons, street entertainment, and fancy-dress themes! If you want to start your student years off with a bang, then this event gives you the perfect opportunity to do just that.
Get competitive with your pals by taking part in the competitions at the event where you can win fab on-stage prizes – who doesn’t love a challenge?!

7. The Freshers Movement
The Freshers Movement is a unique event tour because it is created by students, for students with so much fun to be had. Having sold out every year since 2014, it’s for sure a night out you need to experience this fresher’s week 2022!
What can be expected? Well, there will be ball pits & rodeo bulls, fire breathing body burners & dancers, stilt-walkers, confetti & CO2 cannons, Inflatables AND bouncy castles to name a few! We’re sure you’ll be entertained at this event, and you’ll have a right laugh with your flatmates.
You can make the most of their student friendly drinks prices and banging playlist with the best DJs and MCs set to attend. The line-up and venue details haven’t been announced yet, but keep your eyes peeled for more info at a later date.

8. Freshers Festival
Start your university adventure off in the right way at the Freshers Festival, which is taking place at the luxury nightclub Nox (home to Lux, Nox Saturdays & Milk). The summer might be over, but there’s still festivals to enjoy!
Start the semester off in style at this daytime party with six hours to explore all the amazingness that this event has to offer. Make the most of Nox’s brand-new drinks list which includes bottle serves, wine, champagne and cocktails. Explore the two floors of fun at Nox with its great atmosphere and great music.
Whilst there isn’t too much information released just yet about this event, we’re certain it’s going to be full of good vibes – watch this space for more!
