A network of industry connections ensures incredible work placement opportunities for students.

There are different zones throughout the library, from silent zones through to group zones, helping to maximise productivity for all students.
Recruitment
The Futureworks is the recruitment agency at the university, helping students to find part-time and flexible job roles in the local area, and within the university itself that can fit perfectly around studies. For long-term career advice the Employability Service offers personalised career support and access to national and international employers to meet, network with, and gain work placements with. The Students’ Union (CUSU) based at TheHub has a presence on every campus and is a vital part of everyday student life. There are over 200 societies and clubs to join, as well as a Summer Ball, Varsity Sports tournament, and various events to enjoy throughout the year.
From your luxury Coventry student accommodation you can reach the University of Warwick in under half hour when using the easily found public transport from right outside the building. The university is highly ranked within the UK league tables and has a reputation for delivering exceptional levels of academic excellence in all subject matters, with an approach that helps students maximise employability post-graduation through a combination of high standards of learning, practical exploration and expert guidance and advice from industry and subject specialists.
Students Union
The SU is one of the biggest in any UK university and is the centre of so many activities and events all-year round. There are over 300 societies and clubs to choose from, ensuring you’ll be able to find likeminded friends no matter your interests, and at the SU you can watch theatre from student performers, regular comedy shows, touring live bands, as well as frequent the bar and nightclub.
Delicious Food
Even though you are living in student luxury at our Coventry student accommodation, you’ll want to know where is best to head out and eat some delicious food without it costing you the earth. Coventry has a surprising amount of great food options, with many new independent places opening up over the past few years. The independent food scene is thriving here, so whether you are after something quick and easy on your way to lectures, a big breakfast to help you recover from the big night out last night, or somewhere a bit fancier to go for a meal with your new friends, you’ll find what you are looking for in Coventry.
Cafés
The best bit is that wherever you choose you are not too far away from your grand student accommodation in Coventry. One particular student favourite is The Pod Café, which is a vegan-friendly café that uses local ingredients to produce incredibly tasty meals. Millie’s Kitchen is the place to be in the evening when you are looking for an authentic slice of pizza or a hearty bowl of pasta. Millie’s is a student institution in Coventry. Another favourite café is Rising Café, which is home to tasty light lunches, a great array of cakes and scones, delicious milkshakes, and student-friendly prices. It is always busy here, but it’s well worth the wait – and 100% of proceeds go towards Betel UK and their fight to support vulnerable homeless people. Sovrano Café is another café that is frequented by plenty of students, and is the perfect place to pick up a quick and lite bite, drink a coffee (or a Nutella hot chocolate!).
Restaurants
Sultan Restaurant on Fargosford Street is just a short walk from the centre and is an incredible Turkish restaurant with a wide range of hot and cold starters, main meals and great vegetarian options. Blue Orchid is one of the best Indian restaurants in the city, located in Earlsdon, it’s a cosy, comfortable restaurant, but they also offer takeout if you’re feeling like eating that curry all to yourself in the comfort of your own home. Yakii Sushi is another firm favourite on the food scene, with east-Asian cuisine offered at student friendly prices, offering food from Japan, China, and Korea.
Other places worth noting in Coventry include Chi Bar and its pleasing portions of chicken katsu curry and rice for under £10, The Old Windmill that welcomes you with a lovely roast dinner each Sunday, and Falafel Corner where you can get some of the finest wraps and salads around. Gourmet Food Kitchen and Noddle Bar are two other tasty places worth mentioning.
Have A Good Night Out For Cheap
The nightlife in Coventry is great for students attending the University of Warwick or Coventry University, with a lively nightlife in both Student Union’s and the town itself. For most students living in Coventry there are plenty of places where you can pre-drink for a relatively cheap fee before heading on to a club or a student night. There are quite a few places you can drink for cheap, including one of the three Spoons in the city centre, as well as Draper’s Bar and Kitchen, the Slug and Lettuce, and firm student favourites the Gosford Arms and The Phoenix.
Clubs
The biggest night out for Coventry students though can be found at the Kasbah, which even draws in plenty of students living in nearby Leamington Spa and Warwick. The interior décor is inspired by the luxury and elegance of traditional Morocco and is home to four pretty large bars inside, as well as a spacious patio with outside heating. It even has a BBQ pit, which means during the warmer months especially it is a real hit for those students looking for an outdoor drinking area. Not only is the Kasbah a great place to go for drinks and club nights, it’s also a home for loads of great live music, including touring bands and DJs as well as local acts on their way up in the scene. Less than half a mile from Coventry University, and close to your luxury student accommodation in Coventry, The Empire nightclub is a hugely popular place for a night out, and within stumbling distance of home. It is know for live music and other types of live performance events at an affordable price.
Popular Places
The two most popular student club nights in Coventry by far though can be found at JJ’s and Scholar’s. You can get discounted entry into JJ’s before 11pm, so for many students in Coventry the idea is to pre-drink somewhere cheap right up until the last seconds, before getting a taxi over to JJ’s in time for the discount. JJ’s looks odd, but don’t let that put you off. The inside is full of cheap looking inflatables, banners, and all to different themes, but every Tuesday night is Boom! and you’re bound to have a fantastic time here. There’s no need to worry about the décor when you’ve danced and drunk for a few hours into the next morning.
Being so close to Birmingham via public transport also has its advantages, with many students planning a pre-drinking session in Coventry before heading over to the bigger city of Birmingham for a big night out on the town. For some students it’s a case of partying until the early hours and heading back then, or booking apartments with a big group of friends and staying over in Birmingham. It is handy to have it right on the doorstep of Coventry.
Sport Activities To Stay Fit
Coventry is the European City of Sport 2019 and with this in mind it is a fantastic city to explore and to get involved with sports, as well as find plenty of spectator sports to enjoy. There are regular sports events throughout the year, for people of all ages. As a new student in the city you might be looking for activities to take part in and whether you want to go running as a solitary activity to keep fit, play football or rugby as part of a team, go-karting with your new friends, or go swimming, there is plenty of choice.
Sport Facilities
There is also plenty of choice to take part in sport at Coventry University, and it’s good to know that from your comfortable base at our luxury Coventry student accommodation you’re just a stones throw away from some amazing sports facilities. So once you have run yourself into the ground you’ve got a big, comfy bed to come home to and to recharge your batteries. Coventry University Active is a programme that allows students to take part in a wide range of sports, and allowing you to try out sports you may not have had a go at before. It’s all done in a relaxed and fun environment, with no judgement on ability and skill levels, and there are drop in sessions, lessons, leagues, and tournaments throughout the year.
Team Phoenix
Team Phoenix on the other hand is a programme dedicated to supporting the sporting experience of the flagship university teams. It is a framework of training and support that helps individual’s improve skills and become better equipped to compete at a higher level, whether in the BUCS league or with a view to becoming a professional athlete in the future. Clubs in the programme have access to strength and conditioning sessions, sport physio and rehabilitation services, welfare support, training camps, workshops, and the provision of a qualified, professional head coach.
Football
As far as spectator sports go in Coventry there is the Ricoh Arena, home to Coventry City Football Club. The team play in League One and it is easily reached via public transport on the edge of the city centre. Not only do you have access to Coventry City though, if you love football there are plenty of other big clubs in the region. Just a short train ride away in Birmingham you can find Aston Villa, Birmingham City, and it’s even close enough to visit sides such as West Bromwich Albion, Northampton Town, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and even Leicester City, all within an hours travel.
Other Spectator Sports
Within an hours travel there is also access to multiple other spectator sports, including Northampton Town in Rugby Union, Warwickshire County Cricket Club, who play at Edgbaston in Birmingham, and London is only an hour away with its plethora of big sporting teams and events in multiple sports.
Get Out And Explore!
It is very easy to find the shops that you need from your base at our luxury Coventry student accommodation. You’ve got a comfortable base at your apartment, with a great kitchen set-up for you to cook up a storm for you and your new friends. With that in mind you’ll want to get out and explore, to find the supermarkets and grocery shops that will help you stock up on the essentials as you begin a new life in Coventry. There are so many different local shops and supermarkets really close to where you will be living, with a Tesco Express a quick and easy shop on Shelton Square, and a Trinity Street Sainsbury’s to name just two. Coventry is also home to a range of quality, authentic Asian supermarkets. Just on the outskirts of town are a number of larger supermarkets too (great if one of your friends in the apartment block has a car that you can use to fill up and do a big shop!).
Shopping Centre
For brand names and high street shops that you already have a feel for The West Orchards Shopping Centre is the place to head to, as are the Upper and Lower Precinct. All of the big brand names can be found in these areas, and one of the rarest things you can ever see in a UK city centre is also in Coventry – a city centre IKEA! Head on over to IKEA to buy snazzily designed and functional furniture, or just waste a few hours wandering around the huge range of choices. Just remember to always get to the food hall at the end for some Swedish meatballs or hot dogs that IKEA are famous for!
Independent Stores
Coventry isn’t shy of promoting its independent retail scene either, and at FarGo Village there is a wide range of creative independent retailers inside a cleverly refurbished industrial space. It is a part of the city that has been regenerated in recent years and it has a wealth of beautiful buildings of historical importance that continue to function as a useful part of the retail environment. You’ll find plenty of tasty restaurants and cafés, artists, craft stores, designers, jewellers, antiques, and vintage clothes. Alongside that are regular music events, exhibitions, craft markets and food festivals.
Buying Clothes
There is plenty to explore in terms of clothing in Coventry. Kong in Burges is a fine example of a fashionable menswear outlet, and there are plenty of those for you to discover as you venture into the different parts of Coventry’s shopping scene from your home at our luxury student accommodation. For retro memorabilia relating to modern and vintage film, stage, and television head on over to Sgt Bilko’s Vintage Emporium. Glad Rags Boutique is another fantastic vintage clothing store, with Eastern Bazaar in the market specialises in abayas, thobes, and cloaks. Coventry Market is generally a fantastic place to find the best of local produce and has been winning hearts and awards since 1958.
Events And Attractions
From your luxurious base at our stunning Coventry student accommodation you’ll be best placed to take advantage of the many events and attractions that are available throughout the year. The Transport Museum and The Watch Museum both highlight some of the interesting and important aspects of Coventry’s industrial development, decline, and subsequent rebirth and regeneration in recent years.

There are plenty of festivals throughout the year too. These include the Coventry Coffee Festival, which is home to a wide range of speciality coffees, cake, coffee machines, and speciality tea.
