Located on North Hill opposite the university campus, Switch & AIR are neighbouring venues which both offer a different vibe for a night out.
Switch features a different themed night every day of the week with their indie and Rock night on Mondays, their 2’s Tuesdays, Bangers and Bootlegs Wednesdays, B.I.G. Thursdays, and their student favourite Friday and Saturday nights.
Switch is open until 6am so, you can party until the sun comes up and make the most of student friendly drinks deals at this award winning venue.
AIR on the other hand is Plymouth’s most popular open air bar, with DJs playing every night until 2am and an extensive cocktail menu for you to indulge in.
When the sun is shining, AIR really is the place to be with a lineup of events taking place across the summer months from day parties to disco sessions to so much more.

5. THÊ DEPØ VENUE
The Depo is Plymouth’s number 1 music venue, with plenty of late night events on the bill if you’re wanting a night out on the town.
Located on the iconic Union Street, this 750 capacity venue has something on every day, with their student favourites Indie Tuesdays and their alternative night Pretty Fly both being sellouts week after week.
Their events programme features everything from house to disco to techno to DNB to bassline, so we’re sure you’ll find something that suits.

6. Annabel’s Cabaret and Discotheque
Whilst studying in The Ocean City, you have to experience a night at Annabel’s Cabaret and Discotheque.
As you head into this Vauxhall Street venue, the first floor is for live music, cocktails and DJs whilst the second floor comes alive after dark with a nightclub space.
The entertainment here is first class with cabaret, belly dancers, jive and tango performers setting the scene, plus DJs spinning a soul and funk playlist.
There’s always some sort of event taking place at this venue from live music and comedy nights to amazing burlesque performances to club nights.

7. Images Nightclub
For a one-of-a-kind night out you’ll want to take a visit to Images Nightclub.
This underground loft style venue on Cornwall Street is home to the longest running alternative night in Plymouth, ‘Black Catz’.
Having taken place since 2002, you can expect DJs playing gothic and dark alternative music from 9pm until 4am, as well as affordable drinks deals and free sweets every Saturday.

8. Jesters Nightclub
Jesters has been part of Plymouth’s nightlife scene for over 30 years now, making it one of the city’s longest running nights out.
Despite having mixed reviews from locals, there’s two rooms which each play a different tracklist of crowd pleasers, a great outdoor terrace for getting some air after showing off your moves on the dancefloor as well as a variety of drink deals to make the most of.
