The Propeller Quarter is ideally placed for students studying across North Bristol and beyond. 

UWE Bristol – Frenchay Campus 

UWE Frenchay is one of the easiest university journeys from Brabazon, with the m4 Metrobus providing a direct connection. 

You can also walk or cycle depending on your course and timetable. 

University of Bristol 

Heading into central Bristol? The m4 connects Brabazon with the city, while the new Brabazon railway station will provide a direct connection towards Bristol Temple Meads. 

The University of Bristol’s Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus is also close to Temple Meads, while the historic Clifton Campus is further into the city. 

SGS College 

SGS has several campuses, so make sure you check which one your course is based at. 

SGS Filton is close to Brabazon, while the WISE Campus in Stoke Gifford is home to specialist sport and arts facilities. 

Other students 

The Propeller Quarter also provides a convenient base for students studying at BIMM Music Institute, AMTEC Weston and The Old Vic Theatre School. 

Tip: Do your journey to campus once before your first proper day. It’s much easier to work out your route on a quiet Sunday than at 8.45am on your first Monday.

We’d love to show you around The Propeller Quarter. If you’re travelling by car, head for Runway Avenue via the A38 or Hayes Way and follow the road around towards The Propeller Quarter. You’ll find the entrance at the junction of Runway Avenue and Fairlawn Avenue, with parking available nearby in either Visitor Car Park S1 or the Spitfire Hangar Car Park. You can park free of charge for up to three hours, just make sure you register your vehicle on the Sippi app when you arrive.

Find your feet in Brabazon

You’re close to UWE Frenchay, Bristol Parkway, SGS College, Cribbs Causeway, Patchway and Filton, with Bristol city centre also easy to reach.

Welcome to Brabazon 

You’re not just moving into a new student accommodation building. You’re moving into one of Bristol’s newest neighbourhoods. 

The Propeller Quarter sits in Brabazon, North Bristol, on the site of the former Filton Airfield. 

Brabazon is growing fast, with new homes, green spaces, cafés, leisure facilities, community spaces and entertainment venues being developed around you. 

There’s already plenty to explore. Grab coffee and breakfast at Mokoko Bakery, check out what’s happening at the Spitfire Hangar, head to Cribbs Causeway for shopping and food, or get outside in the local parks and green spaces. 

And because you’re one of the first students here, you’ll actually see the neighbourhood change during your time at The Propeller Quarter.

You don’t always need to head into Bristol city centre. There’s already plenty happening around Brabazon, Filton, Gloucester Road and Cribbs – and there’s more on the way.

There’s plenty happening around The Propeller Quarter before you even head into central Bristol. 

Start local with a coffee at Mokoko, events at the Spitfire Hangar, a trip to Cribbs Causeway or a walk around the local parks. 

Fancy getting active? Try the local walking, wheeling and running routes around Brabazon, Little Stoke, Three Brooks and Stoke Gifford. 

Want to explore Bristol? Head into the city for the Harbourside, Clifton, Clifton Suspension Bridge, Gloucester Road, St Nicholas Market, museums, galleries, live music, comedy, festivals and nightlife. 

And keep an eye out for what’s happening around Brabazon too, from markets and community events to fitness and food events.

Coffee, and Somewhere to Eat

You don’t have to go far to find your next coffee, breakfast, or meal. 

Mokoko Bakery 

Located at the Spitfire Hangar, Mokoko is an easy Bristol favourite for coffee, pastries, breakfast, sandwiches, cakes and fresh bread. 

Spitfire Hangar

The historic Spitfire Hangar has been transformed into a community hub at the heart of Brabazon, with food, events, fitness classes and spaces to meet and socialise. 

Cribbs Causeway

Need more choice? Head to Cribbs Causeway for restaurants, cafés, food on the go and plenty of places to eat while you’re shopping or exploring. 

And when you don’t fancy cooking, you’ll find plenty of takeaway options around Patchway, Filton and Cribbs. 

Student tip: Explore locally before automatically heading into central Bristol. You might find your new favourite coffee spot much closer to home.

Get outside. Get active. 

There’s plenty of opportunities to stay active at The Propeller Quarter and beyond. 

Inside the accommodation, you’ve got access to an on-site gym, yoga area, and a range of spaces to keep active and social. 

Outside, Brabazon and the surrounding area offer plenty of opportunities to walk, wheel, run, and explore. 

Try the routes around Brabazon, Little Stoke, Three Brooks and Stoke Gifford, or head further afield towards Bristol Parkway and beyond. 

Brabazon Park will also bring 15 acres of new green space to the neighbourhood, including lawns, landscaped areas, walking and wheeling routes and a lake. Opening in 2028. 

Prefer a proper gym?  

There are also local options including Village Gym, Riverside Gym & Leisure Club and Pure Gym at Abbey Wood Retail Park. 

Whether you’re training or simply need to get away from your desk, there’s plenty of space to move. 

Getting around 

Getting around from The Propeller Quarter is simple, with bus and rail connections right on your doorstep. 

The m4 Metrobus 

The m4 is one of your most useful local connections, linking Cribbs Causeway, Brabazon, Bristol Parkway, UWE Frenchay and Bristol city centre. 

It’s useful for getting to university, catching a train, shopping, or heading into town. 

Bristol Brabazon Station 

A brand-new railway station is opening in Brabazon, giving the neighbourhood a direct rail connection towards Bristol Temple Meads. 

Once services are running, the journey to Temple Meads is expected to take less than 20 minutes. 

Bristol Parkway 

Until then, Bristol Parkway remains an important local rail connection, with the m4 providing a direct link from Brabazon. 

WESTlink 

WESTlink is an on-demand bus service operating across parts of the West of England. Instead of following a fixed route, you book your journey through the service. 

Always check the latest bus and rail timetables before travelling, as services and timings can change.
