The Best Places For A Night Out
Moving to a new city as a student is a daunting process, and one way to integrate quickly and make new friends who are interested in similar things to you, is to work out where the best places are for a night out. From your luxury student accommodation in Aberdeen you’ll be just a stone’s throw away from some of the best nights out in Aberdeen city centre.
Here, we list a few to get you started:
The Union Bar at the Hillhead student village has had another revamp in recent years, but the heart and soul of a student bar with plenty of drinks offers, themed parties, and a cracking night out, remains. This is a really cheap place to start a night out, including 50p ‘Wild Shots’, arcade machines, pool tables, and big screens for sporting events or things like the Eurovision Song Contest. The bar is always packed, whenever you go, so bear that in mind, but know that you’ll always have a good time there.
The RGU Union is located in the centre of Aberdeen, close to your luxury Aberdeen student accommodation. What this means is it is a fantastic place to have pre-drinks before a night out in the town, and also a great place to go to after a pub crawl, as it is open until late on the weekend. A big plus point is that it is the only bar in the city centre that we can think of that is open exclusively for students. There is an ‘Indie’ night every Thursday night, you can get your cheesy pop fix on a Saturday, and use your brains in the weekly pub quiz on a Tuesday.
An absolute classic on the student life scene in Aberdeen, The Garage has multiple rooms and is a favourite for its cheap drinks, and big dance classics. Disco Fridays are great to throwback to classics of yesteryear, whilst it is also a venue that has played host to plenty of big bands and artists over the years.
Three club rooms spread over two floors; The Institute provides something for everyone. The main room has a state-of-the-art sound system and plays the best EDM, whereas The Loft is a more intimate affair, the perfect place to hire out for a private party. The Gold Bar is the VIP Lounge in the venue, with a valet service and an expansive, innovative cocktail menu.
The Bobbin is one of the most well-known Aberdeen pubs for students. It is located next door to the campus of King’s College and is a great place to go at any time of the day. There is a brilliant menu of local pub grub of the highest order during the day, a pub quiz weekly, karaoke nights, and plenty of discounts and student-specific promotions to look out for throughout the year.

Support the Dons
Never relegated from the Scottish top flight, Aberdeen Football Club is full of tradition and history, battling with the big boys from Glasgow over the years. The glory days of the 80s might seem a long time ago (winning two European trophies in its time), but Aberdeen consistently challenges, playing in European football. A trip to Pittodrie to see the Dons play is a must for any sports fan living in the city, and it is only a 20-minute walk from your luxury student accommodations in Aberdeen.

In fact, there are over 50 golf courses in the region, so if you are into playing or watching you’ll certainly be able to have a good day out.
